A 2 g sample was cut from the potato (left). The sample was ground in 10 ml of dichloromethane and the resulting solution (center) was used in the lipid tests. A second 2 g sample was ground with 10 ml of water and resulting solution (right) was used in the carbohydrate and protein tests.
