Sunflower Seeds |

| The shell was removed from 25 sunflower seeds and the kernels collected (left). The kernels were ground in 10 ml of dichloromethane and the resulting solution (center) was used in the lipid tests. A second set of 25 kernels was ground in 10 ml of water and the resulting solution (right) was used in the carbohydrate and protein tests.
