Mission
The Department of Instructional Technology provides resources, services, and professional development for faculty and instructional staff to enhance teaching and learning through the use of technology in instruction.
Functions
Resources: Provide hardware, software, technology-focused informational materials, the FIT Lab (F124) and the Distance Learning Information Center and DoIT Web sites for faculty use.
Services: Facilitate instructional design, development and production of instructional materials (audio, graphic, illustration, photography, print, video, Web) for onsite and distance course delivery, technical support for Blackboard and WebBoard, and general distance course information.
Professional Development: Conduct instructional technology workshops and information-sharing sessions on using technology to enhance teaching and learning and facilitate Faculty Fellowships and the Successful Teaching Online Mentoring Program (STOMP)
