Course description:

This workshop explores blended learning classes (face-to-face and Internet components). Discover how these classes are organized, how they maintain instructor-student contact and how they might work for you! An exchange of ideas focusing on courses that might work well for this delivery mode will also be included.

Prerequisite:

Familiarity with an Internet browser, email and Blackboard course management software helpful.

Course description:

This workshop explores division of an online course into eight different areas that provide an environment for online interactivity. Suggestions for dividing up course material and activities are also included. Access to a Blackboard (course management system) template developed by six Harper College faculty will be made available as part of this workshop.

Prerequisite:

Teaching Online Overview workshop or experience teaching an online course and frequent use of an Internet browser, email and word processing software. Introduction to Blackboard workshop and familiarity with PowerPoint software helpful.

Course description:

This workshop provides participants with hands-on experience using a variety of Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs) with Blackboard. Topics discussed include an overview of classroom assessment and CATs, examples of using CATs in online courses, and ways that participants can incorporate CATs into their own online course(s).

Prerequisite:

Blackboard will be used to provide hands-on examples of using CATs in an online course. Each student should have a Blackboard User Name.
