CIS 203: Systems Analysis and Design
Course Description
Introduces students to the role of the systems analyst and the functions and techniques of business systems’ analysis and design. Includes business systems analysis, requirements modeling, data and process modeling, object modeling, development strategies, user interface design, and systems implementation. Practical analysis and design skills are achieved through hands-on projects and interactive case studies. Prerequisite: CIS 143 and prior or concurrent enrollment in CIS 168, CIS 181 or CIS 182 with grades of C or better.
Required Materials
- Textbook
- Internet access and a Harper Blackboard account.
- Access to a computer running a licensed or free trial version of Microsoft Office or OpenOffice. Harper lab I 205 has computers and software that may be configured as necessary for this course.
