Academic Interests:

In the composition classroom, I am especially interested in providing a good variety of reading and writing assignment options that allow development and enhancement of strong writing, reading, and research skills. Some academic interests that contribute to my teaching include twentieth- and twenty-first century short fiction from all parts of the world, as well as investigation of local, national, and international environmental and political concerns. In the teaching of non-Western literature, I am particularly interested in modern African literature, especially from Nigeria, as well as post-Mao Chinese fiction and international memoir and travel narratives.
