PAVE Competition - The PAVE the Way 3D Design Challenge is a real-life design opportunity for students to design, develop, and construct a branded store fixture (no larger than 36-inch square footprint and 60 inches high) to display pet-specific accessories and/or pet care product. Finalists will have their work showcased at a major industry event -- GlobalShop 2011!  · $5,000 Top Prize, Entries Due Nov. 19, 2010, Entries must be received by B&N Industries in pdf format by Friday, Nov. 19, 2010. NKBA Student Competition 2010/2011 – Due November 30, 2010.  Challenges Students to Remodel a Multi-Million Dollar High-Rise Condominium.  For the first time, NKBA student members competing in the NKBA Student Design Competition will be asked to design in a new challenging environment: a multi-million dollar high-rise condominium in downtown Chicago. First Place $2,500 scholarship, 2nd place $1,500, 3rd place $1,000.  Award winners will also receive complimentary registration to KBIS 2011, which will include the awards ceremony, two nights’ hotel stay, and transportation to the event.

Projects entered must be completed individually by the student designer. No co-designers are permitted in the competition.

Students may enter the kitchen, bath, or both portions of the competition.

NKBA/GE Design Charette

Design a kitchen utilizing the provided GE appliance specifications that best suits the needs of the owners while staying within the provided space. Students have only 3 hours to complete the design. Harper will organize our students to do the competition at a specific date and time together. Contact Larry Gulotta or Jacque Mott if you are interested.

Awards: Top 3 contestants per school -Certificate and $50 and entered into national contest

National Awards: 1st=$5,000; 2nd=$4,000; 3rd=$3,000; 4th=$2,500; 5th=$2,000; Honorable Mention (5 awards) = $1,000 each

NKBA Outstanding Student Award - Sponsored by Toto

The National Kitchen & Bath Association's Outstanding Student Award is designed to promote excellence in kitchen and bath design and bring a greater awareness of the NKBA, as well as kitchen and bath career options, to schools accredited by the NKBA (Harper is one). The academic achievements of the student must demonstrate excellence in kitchen and bath design. and a description of the student's volunteer or work experience is required that relates to the kitchen and bath industry, such as serving as an NKBA Student Chapter Officer or participating in the Local NKBA Chapter.

Scholarship Award: The NKBA will provide one scholarship in the amount of $100 and a perpetual plaque with a plate bearing the name of the student each year who demonstrates outstanding achievement in the kitchen and bath coursework at each eligible school. The plaque and scholarship check will be mailed to the college coordinator.
