The design rooms are equipped with drafting tables with straight edges. Special displays, lighting lab and kitchen cabinetry are available in some of the classrooms.
This interior design lab includes twelve computer workstations with high speed Internet access. All computers are equipped with AutoCad 2010, Windows NT and the Microsoft Office Package, Adobe Photoshop, Minutes Matter, Google SketchUp, 20/20 Kitchen and Bath Software, Front Page, Windows Media Player.. There are three other Mega labs on Harper campus which are available for all students to use.
Interior Design Resource Room
Interior Design students have access to literally thousands of sample fabrics, floor and wall covering, hard and resilient surface materials and design magazines. Design firms within the Merchandise Mart often make donations of materials providing an ever-changing array of resources for projects.
The College Tutoring Center is available for all Harper students. An interior design tutor is available to set up one hour per week of individual tutoring – FREE OF CHARGE.
In addition to Harper’s massive campus Library, the Interior Design Department has many textbook and specialized resources which are available to our students. These resources include the use of online databases, digital visual images, and many specialized trade textbooks and consumer magazines
Students can purchase the art and classroom supplies needed for their classes right on campus at Harper’s bookstore.
