Filtering
Filtering is a way of separating an insoluble compound (often a precipitate formed from a reaction) from a solution. There are two types of simple filtrations: gravity filtration and suction filtration. Gravity filtrations are usually used when the filtrate (the liquid portion) is to kept and used. Suction filtrations are usually used when the residue (the solid portion) is to kept and used.
