How to view STARLINK programs– There are several options:
- Programs – Here you will find the list of topics and dates to be presented during our licensing year (September 2009 – August, 2010. You will receive a weekly email announcing this topic along with a special password.
- Library – Monthly Videos – These videos are available to view during the current month on demand 24/7. You may use the password 2educ8 to view the current one.
- Library – Archive Videos – these “Best Practices” videos are available on demand 24/7. You may use the password 2educ8 to view any of the ones you choose.
- Library – Ideas – 3-10 minute videos on quick tips for teaching available on demand 24/7 You may use the password 2educ8 to view any of the ones you choose.
All Starlink programs are offered on demand. You will also get the opportunity to download materials that accompany designated programs. Starlink will also send DVDs of designated programs, which will be posted on the Faculty Development website.

Presenters include:
Polly Binns, CFRE, Executive Director, Council for Resource Development (DC)
Polly Binns, CFRE, is the executive director for the Council for Resource Development (CRD) in Washington,
DC. CRD connects, educates, supports, strengthens, and celebrates community college development professionals.
An affiliate of the American Association of Community Colleges, CRD serves over 1500 members at more than
700 institutions. Polly has a BA in Theatre Arts from Allegheny College, Meadville, PA, and an MS in Writing from
Towson University, MD. She holds certification as a Certified Fund Raising Executive from CFRE International. Prior to her
position at CRD, Polly was the chief development officer at Cecil Community College, in rural Cecil County, Maryland. She has
been an adjunct faculty member at community colleges since 1995. She has 19 years of experience in all areas of resource
development including board management, annual funds, capital campaigns, planned giving, alumni associations, and grants.
Dr. Linnea Fletcher, Program Officer, Division of Undergraduate Education, National Science Foundation (VA)
A life-long fascination in science caused Linnea Fletcher to obtain bachelor's and master's degrees in Biology,
Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California at Irvine before coming to Texas to earn her PhD
in microbiology at the University of Texas at Austin. After several years working in laboratories, Dr. Fletcher
began a career in education at Austin Community College (ACC) in 1991. She has not only taught in the
Biology, the Chemistry and the Applied Health departments but has also served as Division Chair and Assistant Dean of
Math, Science and Technology.
David Baime, Vice President for Government Relations American Association of Community Colleges (UT)
David Baime serves as Vice President for Government Relations for the American Association of Community
Colleges (AACC). In this role, he directs the national advocacy efforts for the nation’s 1,200 community
colleges and their students. Prior to that time he served as Director of Education Funding for the National
Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. Mr. Baime has also worked as Assistant Director of
Government Relations for the Association of American Medical Colleges. Mr. Baime hold’s a bachelor’s degree from
Haverford College and a Master’s Degree in Economics from the London School of Economics. Mr. Baime has made a
number of radio, television, and web appearances, including on CNN, MSNBC, C-SPAN, and National Public Radio,
and is frequently quoted in The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inside Higher Education, and other education publications.
