in Food




In order to function properly, our body requires a variety of organic and inorganic materials. While inorganic compounds, which include minerals, are important, this experiment will concentrate on three basic classes of organic compounds: carbohydrates, lipids and proteins. Because these nutrients are ingested and used by the body in large amounts, they are called macronutrients.

The experiment is composed of four parts (background, prelab, experiment, postlab) that should be completed in the order listed below.
